Full truckload carrier history

In 1910 there were approximately 10k trucks in the United States. Around this time transport time across the country was a month. Following the addition of front end lights to the truck and ability to drive at night, time was shortened. Soon, regulations set by the Motor Carrier Act in 1935 and the U.S government putting funds towards highways encouraged growth of trucks to the hundreds of thousands.
